The Blackmoor 2000 was an updated version of the earlier Blackmoor. The redesign was done in conjunction with Edge Design Inc. of St. Louis MO. The knives were marked with the Edge Designs as well as BlackJack or Ek name on the blade. The purpose of the redesign was to make an up to date tactical knife. There were approx. 1200 of these marked as BlackJack's and about 300 marked as Ek's. The handle material is bead blasted paper micarta. The sheaths feature a retaining pin which was used to lock the knife securely in the sheath making the setup jump safe for use by airborne troops.
Below is an example of the BlackJack marked variation.
Below are three views are the knife in it's sheath. You can see how the retaining pin works to keep the knife locked into the sheath.
Below are some views of the Ek marked knives and a side by side comparison of a BlackJack marked and Ek marked knife.
